Question 1

I have never been in an accident before. What should I do first?

Accepted Answer

Stay calm and make sure everyone is safe. Call 911 if there are injuries, then contact Crown Towing. We'll secure your vehicle and transport it to our collision center or the repair shop of your choice.

Question 2

What should I do if my car breaks down in the middle of the road?

Accepted Answer

Stay calm and pull over to a safe spot if possible. Turn on your hazard lights, then call Crown Towing. We'll dispatch the right truck and stay on the line until help arrives.

Question 3

How long will it take for the tow truck to arrive?

Accepted Answer

Arrival times depend on location and traffic, but most tows within Portland and Vancouver take 30 to 60 minutes. We'll always give you an estimated time of arrival when you call.

Question 4

What information should I provide when calling for a tow?

Accepted Answer

Please share your exact location, the make and model of your vehicle, and a short description of the issue. This helps our drivers bring the right truck and equipment for your situation.

Question 5

What types of situations do people call Crown Towing for?

Accepted Answer

We respond to just about everything: accidents and collisions, mechanical breakdowns, dead batteries, flat tires, out-of-gas calls, overheating, transmission failures, off-road recoveries, illegally parked vehicles on private property, and long-distance transports. If your vehicle can't move under its own power, we can help.

Question 6

Do you offer emergency towing in Portland?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Our dispatch line is staffed by live operators ready to route the nearest available driver to your location as quickly as possible.

Question 7

Which Portland neighborhoods do you tow in?

Accepted Answer

All of them. Our trucks run downtown and the Pearl District, Northeast and Southeast Portland, Sellwood-Moreland, Woodstock, Lents, Mt. Tabor, Hillsdale, Multnomah Village, and out through the east-county corridor. Our yard is on SE Pine St, so most Portland calls are a short run for us.

Question 8

Can you tow my car if I'm out of gas, or have a flat tire?

Accepted Answer

Yes — we handle roadside assistance including fuel delivery, jump starts, and tire changes. If the issue can't be fixed on the spot, we'll tow you to a shop of your choice or to our Portland location.

Question 9

Do you tow motorcycles, pickups, and work vans?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Our fleet includes flatbeds and wheel-lift trucks that safely handle motorcycles, sedans, SUVs, pickups, and work vans. We do not provide heavy-duty, semi-truck, or oversized vehicle towing. Tell our dispatcher what you're driving and we'll send the right truck.

Question 10

Can you recover my vehicle if it's stuck off-road, in a ditch, or in the snow?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We provide winch-outs and recovery for vehicles stuck in mud, snow, ditches, embankments, and parking obstacles. Let dispatch know the terrain so we send the proper truck and rigging.

Question 11

Do I have to use the repair shop my insurance recommends?

Accepted Answer

No. You have the right to choose any repair shop you trust. Crown Towing & Collision works with most major insurance companies, and we'll coordinate directly with them for your convenience. Remember, you pick the shop…it's the law. ORS 746.280

Question 12

Do you do long-distance or out-of-state tows?

Accepted Answer

Yes. In addition to local Portland and Vancouver tows, we handle long-distance transports across Oregon and Washington. Call for a flat-rate quote based on mileage and vehicle type.

Question 13

How much does a tow cost?

Accepted Answer

Pricing depends on distance, vehicle type, and the kind of service needed (standard tow, winch-out, accident recovery, etc.). We quote up front before the truck is dispatched — no surprise fees.

Question 14

Is my vehicle safe during towing?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Our drivers are trained and certified to load, secure, and transport your vehicle using proper straps, wheel nets, and flatbed equipment. Every tow is fully insured, and we treat every vehicle — from daily drivers to luxury and lifted trucks — with the same careful handling.

Question 15

Will my insurance cover the repair?

Accepted Answer

Most insurance policies cover repair costs depending on your coverage and deductible. We work directly with Progressive, Geico, Allstate, Liberty Mutual, and all other major insurance carriers — our team will help you communicate with your insurer and provide detailed repair estimates.

Question 16

Can I get a rental car?

Accepted Answer

Yes. If your policy includes rental coverage, we can help you arrange a rental vehicle while your car is being repaired.

Question 17

What if my car is totaled?

Accepted Answer

If your car is declared a total loss, we'll work with your insurance company to handle the process and safely store your vehicle until the next steps are finalized.
